The Great Commission Credentials by Mark Fenison

If the church alone was commissioned to preserve and to preach the gospel, then it is certain no other organization has the right to preach it–to trench upon the divine rights of the church. A Masonic Lodge, no more than a Young Men’s Christian Association; an ‘Odd-fellow’ lodge or Howard Association, no more than a Woman’s Missionary Board,’ have the least right to take the gospel in hand, select and commission ministers to go forth and preach it, administer the ordinances and ORGANIZE CHURCHES.

Lectures In Biblical Theology Of The New Testament

0ur question concerns what we will be studying in this course of study in the New Testament. Biblical Theology must be distinguished from Systematic Theology, from Exegesis and Exposition, from Apologetics, and from Biblical Introduction, although it is related to all these subjects. Biblical Theology is a combination of these. Biblical Theology concerns itself with why something was written as well as with the content of revelation.

Divine Order of the Sexes

There is a Divine order of the sexes. To deny this order is to deny the Bible. To deny the Bible is to plunge into the sea of human experience without any real hope of surviving. This, many are willing to do in order to be in the swim. Much of the Bible is a dead letter to the average church member. He has no more use for the Bible as the rule of faith and practice than a hog has for breeches. What a settlement many are going to have to make with God for their arrogant setting aside of His holy word as impracticable! and out of date!

Heavenly Hope

I live on hope and that I think do all who come into this world.” Bridges. It is the writer’s observation that of all the doctrine of the Bible, the doctrine of hope has received the least attention from preachers generally and from theologians in particular. In the index of subjects in one of our largest and most popular theologies, the word hope does not appear.
