Missionary Report December 2007

January 4, 2008

Dear friends and brethren in Christ,

I am typing this letter while being here in the City of Victoria, Tamaulipas, Mexico.  I am very impress with the growth that this city has experienced through the years.  We have had the opportunity to drive around visiting different neighborhoods and noticing the city’s growth.  This also brings more spiritual needs in the population.  There are several areas where no Christian churches exist.  Please pray for us that we may be sensitive to the Lord’s lead on this.  Also, that He may prepare the heart of His chosen ones so that they come to the Lord Jesus Christ in His time and through the gospel.

We used this trip to continue working out the details of our move, as well as to get familiar with some of the areas of the City that have experienced a significant population growth.  Also, I had the opportunity to preach at least three times for the Berea Baptist Church here in the City.

Following, I would like to provide an update, and ask for your continual prayers in the needs we have been sharing with you:

Housing

The closing of the house in the city of Victoria has now been complete.  We successfully signed the contract with the Bank, and will get the house documents by the end of the Month of January.  The house payments will be a little high for our income but we are thankful with the Lord who has worked out all the pending things for this to happen.  Thank you for your prayers in this subject.

Vehicle for the Ministry

I received communication from Bryan Station Baptist Church notifying me that the funds to buy the vehicle for the ministry are now available in our working account.  Also I was notified that several Churches helped on this need along with Bryan Station.  We are very thankful with the Lord for this, and with each of His Churches that participated.  Thank you for your love and faithfulness to the mission work.  Once that we return to the border, I will work on the arrangements to purchase the vehicle and import that into Mexico.  I will keep you posted on this.

Kids School

We met with the school principal, and she explained us several options for our kids to complete this scholar year.  The most obvious is to allow the kids to attend school regularly the rest of the scholar year.  We also discussed on working over the Internet with the school so that they can complete the scholar year and same thing for future years.  They said they will charge us some tuition.  The principal got excited with this option since she said this seems to be the beginning of a new ministry for the school: “remote students working over the Internet”.  Please keep praying for our kids, and ask the Lord to give us grace and wisdom as we make decisions on this.

Thank you for your prayers for my family and the work down here.

Your friend and brother in Christ,
