Missionary Report January 2010

Dear brethren and Churches of the Lord Jesus,

The month of January was again a difficult one to keep up with visitation due to the weather.  We have many cold days to the point of having some ice in the City of Victoria and Pesqueria.  The rain was also present some days in both areas.  We used most of our time encouraging and teaching the people who already attend the mission work.  We look forward to better weather and the spring season arrival to come back to the door to door visitation work we have been doing (Lord willing).  We continue working with several projects: The Bible institute, The Baptist Pioneer translation into Spanish, the ministry website, etc.

Our son, Ivan, completed his first home school year.  In the case of Edgar, he received his driver’s license by the very first time.  Thank the Lord for both achievements.  My wife has been struggling with an intense lower back pain for about two months now, we just went to the doctor and X-rays were requested.  She will see the doctor again this month, please keep her in your prayers.  Following you will find the main activities that were done at each mission work:

 “Gracia sobre Gracia” mission work

Pablo, the young man I have previously mentioned in my letters, continues attending the services in a regular basis.  His wife continues accompanying him regularly.  Pablo has requested baptism in obedience to the Lord; He professes to know Christ as his savior.  Pablo has not married his wife; they have been living together for about 7 years, and have four beautiful children, I have told him they need to get married before he goes through the baptism.  He has been very receptive to this situation and is looking forward to get this thing right before the Lord, so that we can proceed with his baptism.  Please keep praying for him, he is a new believer and has been attending services with us for a year now.

 “Soberano Salvador” mission work

The two families attending services to this mission work continue coming faithfully to listen to the Word of God.  We are teaching about church doctrine on Sunday morning.  We did some visitation in this area as weather permitted and will resume as the Lord open doors.

 “Gracia Soberana” mission work

People attending services to this work have gone through several trials and I would say discouragement.  A couple that has been with us since the very beginning has split their ways. They were living together without marrying, the man has left, and the woman keeps coming regularly to the services.  Some others have not come any more to listen to the Word of God, we pray that the Lord may open their heart and grant them salvation.
