Missionary Report October 2009

Dear Brethren in Christ,

The month of October closed with expressions of wickedness here in Victoria, Mexico.  Halloween celebration is growing significantly.  I preached against this issue in Victoria, Tamaulipas and Pesqueria, Nuevo Leon.  There were a lot of kids out in the streets, the night of October the 31st. Many of the kids were with their parents, doing the “trick or treat”.  This is in appearance a very innocent fun but we need to look at what is behind it: Wickedness and cult to Demons.  May God help us to instruct our children and the new generations in the ways of our Lord Jesus.

Following please find a brief summary of the activities during this month at each mission work:

“Gracia sobre Gracia” mission work

We have had several first time visitors in this mission. The couple that lives across the preaching house continues attending with certain regularity, please pray for them. The man name is Juan, and the woman is Carmen. Pray especially for Juan he has a Pentecostal background, He seems to be interested in the Word of God but struggles with being faithful to the Lord and to the services. Carmen, his wife, never attended any Christian church before. Pablo is the name of another young man attending services. His family is composed of his wife and several children. Pray for his wife (Vanessa), she hardly attends any service, pray for her salvation.

 “Soberano Salvador” mission work

We have not had any first time visitors in this mission.  The two families attending services have been there most of the times.  The man who is the head of one of these families (his name is Manuel), has been with us only a few times.  He says he is a Christian and claims to know the Lord as his Savior, but is very negligent with his spiritual life and leading his family.  Pray for him, that the Lord may work on his heart and may He truly reveal Jesus to him.  We have been studying the doctrines of grace in this mission on Sunday morning.

 “Gracia Soberana” mission work

We ask for your prayers for Sister Juanita, the wife of bro. Adrian.  She is pregnant and has been diagnosed with a high risk pregnancy.  The doctor asked her complete rest for several weeks, and she has been missing the preaching services.  As it was reported in my last letter, we found an inexpensive rental house and we proceeded to rent it.  We had been staying at bro. Adrian’s house since the very beginning of this mission but his wife needs complete rest and we were already interfering with these medical directions.  In addition to this, we strategically located the house in a brad new subdivision where about 10,000 houses will be built.  This takes us to the need of preaching the Word in that place.  Pray for this situation we want to start doing visitation in this area as well.
