September 2009 Missionary Report

Dear Elected Saints in the Lord Jesus,

The rain season finally got here in this part of Mexico. The rain is a blessing coming from God even though common man does not take it like that. Every body was concerned with the lack of rain in the area. God sometimes restrains His blessings to help man understand His provision and avoid taking “common blessings” for granted. God continues doing the work down here and has blessed us during the month of September. Following please find a brief summary of the activities during this month at each mission work:

“Gracia sobre Gracia” mission work

As previously reported, the attendance in this mission decreased significantly. We are not discouraged with this; I honestly believe the Lord sent us to preach the gospel and not to recruit people to report high attendance numbers. As He opens doors and works in the heart of those who hear the message, we will disciple them as the best of our ability. There is a couple that recently changed residence from a different place to this subdivision, as matter of fact, they now live just across the street, almost in front of the mission. The man said he used to attend a Pentecostal Church but it has been a few years he has not attended church any more. The woman never attended a Christian church before. They have a 10 years boy who has come with them as well. Pray for them that the Lord may open their eyes and save their souls. We have interrupted the children ministry, at this point, in this mission not only due to low attendance but also because of the high level of activities we are having. We will revisit this activity in the future as the Lord leads. Please keep praying for this mission work.

 “Soberano Salvador” mission work

We continue doing door to door visitation in this subdivision and hand delivering gospel tracts. The two families attending the services in this mission have been there most of the times. Please pray for one of these families, they have been facing family issues since before they attended the mission. The name of the man is Luis, his wife is Antonia and they have three teenagers: Mary, Tony and Yolanda. Ask the Lord to give me wisdom to counsel and encourage them to build good family relationships as well as following the Lord.

 “Gracia Soberana” mission work

We continue with the door to door visitation at this mission work. Hundreds of John and Romans booklets were hand delivered this month along with sound gospel tracts. Pastor Marco Cantu continues travelling every other week to support us in this mission work. One man, that had never read the Bible before, told me that he finished reading John and Romans booklet. He said, “What I have read is very precious, I learned things that Christ did and I did not know”. Please pray for this man, May the Lord open his understanding and his heart, may He grant him repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus according to His mercy. We have also been looking for an inexpensive rental house, so that we can stay for a longer period of time during our visits to this town. As of today, we have been staying at bro. Adrian’s home every time we visit this mission, but we do not want to be a burden to him and his family every time we are in town. It seems like the Lord is leading us to a new subdivision in the town of Pesqueria. I have already spoken with a lady who owns a small house; the rent would be $95 dollars per month, with an initial deposit per the same amount. This will allow us to extend our stays in this town and be able to reach more will subdivisions.  We need to be diligent with the time we spend at Victoria and Pesqueria, as we work in the mission works in these two different places, they are separated each other for about 200 miles.

Kids Homeschool

Pray for us as we homeschool our boys, as of today, we have significant delay VS the program due date. It has been a real challenge, we just started the missionary work, we went through a residence change and they had never been homeschooled before!
