Dear
Brethren in the Lord:
“And it shall be,
that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the
King, the Lord of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain." (Zechariah 14:
17)
In their last reports, the brethren said that
the Bible study and visitation continue at Pasig and surrounding villages. The Lord continues to bring visitors to the
worship services. Last Sunday, there was a first-time visitor, Luningning, a resident of Camarines
Sur located south of Manila, along with the other visitors Marlon, Joanna,
Rodilyn, Maureen, Nanay Phoebe, Normel, JR, Marco, Arjie, Mark, Edgar, Nico, May,
some of their in-laws and relatives. Last Saturday morning, a church visitor
raised a question about the Pentecostal-charismatic movement with its practice
of ‘speaking-in-tongues.’ She was given
a thorough explanation and answer backed by Scriptures. She was also given the
Biblical counseling she needed concerning the matter, but she acted withdrawn
and remained indifferent. Please
remember this precious soul in your faithful prayers. The weekly Bible study
continues in Rosario, Pembo-Makati, Ligao, Pasig area, Floodway
Cainta and Floodway Rosario. Maritess and Jay were two of the participants who
joined the Bible teaching in the Floodway-Rosario area.
The brethren continue to assemble together at
San Pedro, Laguna for the worship service attended by Sister Josie, Sister Lina and others. Please
pray in behalf of Sister Josefina, who is undergoing medical tests. She has been instructed by her cardiologist to
follow a strict diet regimen to regulate her hypertension.
In Cavite,
the brethren including Sister Araceli have been
struggling with illnesses but continue to serve---please keep them in your
prayers that the Lord may renew their strength each day. Please also keep these
precious souls in your prayers that the Lord keeps them close to Him and keeps
them faithful--from Silang, Cavite: Anavir, Jorvan, Jairuleen, Jaiseree, Jennifer,
Joan, Jeanne, and from Mabuhay City, in Dasmarinas,
Cavite: Che-Che, Ariel, and Cheriel.
Please pray for a couple and their
children, who seem to be growing disinterested and lenient in attending the
worship services. The brethren urged
this family to stay close to the Lord in worship, Word and prayer, to ask the
Lord to strengthen their faith in Him and to take comfort from patience:
‘Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.’ (James 1: 3) We pray that the Lord may grant them the inner
strength to take life challenges in the strongholds of His might and power.
Our
Lord has His continued blessings on the brethren in Mahinhin, Taytay. Living under the burden of unemployment during
this global recession, Bro. Randy and Bro. Allan were able to find jobs, but
still struggle with heavy work obligations, job insecurity and unpredictable
work schedules. The Bible study
continues in different places: (1) Cainta attended by Arlan,
Carla, Arman, Bro. Randy and Mang Fred, Bro. Allan’s
father-in-law; (2) Dividend Homes with Bro. Ruben, Sister Rosa and Ruby; and,
(3) Floodway Taytay joined by Michael, Weng, Jocelyn
and others. The Bible teaching with Bro.
Arman, Alfie and Michelle
continues on weekly basis.
We thank the Lord for the brethren at Grace
Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, Georgetown, KY; South Irvine Baptist Church,
Irvine, KY; Bryan Station Baptist Church, Lexington, KY; Ocoonita Missionary
Baptist Church in Jonesville, VA; and, the other brethren from the Lord's
Churches of like faith and order, for your continued financial support and most
especially for your faithful prayers in our behalf and the Lord's work. May we grow stronger in God's grace as we wait
for His soon return. "Looking for that blessed
hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus
Christ." (Titus 2:13)
In His glorious service,
Bro. Ed Quetua
