Missionary Report February 2008

Greetings to all in the mighty name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

This has been a busy month as we have started preparing for our June furlough.  There are always so many things to do in preparation for being away, but by the Lord’s grace everything is coming together slow but sure.

A Pastor from up north has contacted me; it seems that he and approximately 30 people have been kicked out of their Armenian affiliation because of the doctrines of grace.  It is not my first time to deal with such matters, sometimes the people are sincere and really need Church authority (which we are always willing to help with), and other times there are just looking for money.

I have never liked the practice of buying baptisms and churches to reorganize just for the sake of impressive prayer letters.  Numbers like that may look good on paper, but they are not too impressive before the judgment throne of God.  I will meet with this man the second week of March, please pray for our meeting.

Pastor Choy Lastimosa and our mission in Caloocan have celebrated their 3rd Year Anniversary this month.  I was there to preach for them on that Sunday morning, we had a great time in the Lord.  The mission there has also had their numbers increased this month as two ladies were saved, baptized, and added to their assembly.  Please continue to pray for them.

An American man here in the Philippines donated a motorcycle to Pastor Choy this month.  It is a used Korean motorcycle and in dire need of maintenance, but it should make a dependable means of transportation for him and make commuting to and from Bible studies and visitation much easier.

Higher Ground Baptist Church and Pastor Esguerra continue to do well.  The good news about the work there is that the Jail ministry is really gaining momentum, Bro.  Esguerra is now preaching in the jail twice a week.  Continue to pray for the work there.

In our Printing Ministry this month, we have printed several thousand tracts for a Pastor here in Las PinÞas.  Please remember this ministry also in your prayers.

The family is doing fine; I’m scheduled to get my final rabies shot tomorrow morning.  And of course the children are very excited about coming back home.

Mission Needs

·         Pastor for Providence Baptist Church in Marikina

·         Help with airfare for our furlough.  The cost for 7 tickets will be approximately $6,000 and the earlier we can book them, the cheaper it will be.  Please prayerfully consider helping with this need as the Lord leads.

A special thanks to Sovereign Grace Baptist Church, Birmingham, AL., and New Haven Baptist Church for the love offerings that were sent in this month.  And to all for your love, prayers and continued support.

In the Surety of His Blood,
