Mission Report March 2008
Brent K
Spears
Greetings
to all once again from the Philippines!
Things here
continue to proceed on with the Churches and Mission works right on time according to the
Lord's schedule.
This last
Sunday night the Church here in Marikina
partook of the Lord's Supper. I preached on the subject of "What is worse
than eating and drinking unworthily." The Lord was pleased to bless the
service with one of the strongest manifestations of His Spirit that I have ever
witnessed. Quite the contrary of what the charismatics would call a spirit
filled service, the people in our service all seemed to be very quiet and
broken. Frankly, when the service was ended I just wanted to go on to Heaven,
not to escape the trials of this life, but just to be in the presence of my
great Savior, to worship and adore Him. Things of this earth did indeed grow
strangely dim in this service, and it was one of the closest things to Heaven I
have ever experienced on the mission field!
We will be
returning to Romblon the second week of this month, please pray for our safety
in travel and also our strength. A two hour drive to the pier in bad traffic,
and a 12 hour ride on a hot ship (sometimes the air cond
works and sometimes it don't) where the restrooms literally have urine and
sometimes vomit swishing on the floor with every roll and pitch of the ship, is
both exhausting and stressful for the whole family.
The
children are doing well and healthy. Josiah and Karena had a piano recital last
week and did a great job. Myra
is very excited to see her parents upon our return to the States.
Please
continue to pray for our 2008 furlough.
Thanks to
all for our love, prayers, cards and continued support.
In the
Surety of His blood,
Bro. Brent
K. Spears and family
