Dear Holy
Brethren,
Greetings
once again from Honduras, Central America. One has said that the beauty of this country is a
secret from the rest of the world. I have been blessed to be chosen to
serve in this country for over twenty years for my Lord. I believe with
any ministry there are times on the mountain top as well as times in the valleys.
I have been in both of them at times. I have been able to rejoice to see
one of the chosen broken and drawn by the working of the Holy Spirit and the
holy Word of God, then saved and baptized, and learning the ways of the Lord
and walking in them. There are also other days so dark that I knew not
when I would be able to start walking up the foothills to reach the top
again. God is so faithful to his children when He pulls us out of the
quicksand of life by His Shepherd’s staff and carries us back to safety.
I’m so thankful for His love to each of His sheep. Oh, that we will never
doubt that He loves and cares for us!
I am writing
this letter in the new year of 2008. Happy New Year to all! May our
Lord guide and lead us through the next one. May we all follow His call
and obey His will, whatever that will be. We are not our own; we have
been purchased with the precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.
During this past
month we thank the Lord for His blessings as we have preached in both the Sovereign God Baptist
Church and the Baptist
Mission in Jesus de Otoro. The last Sunday in December was the day I
resigned as the pastor of Sovereign
God Baptist
Church, though I will
still be available to them to supply when needed. I am down here as your
missionary and as long as I continued as pastor, they would never feel the need
to call a pastor. Now they know that I was serious, and they have started
the process of calling a national pastor.
There are some who say they've been called to preach, but have not
been yet entered the ministry. Please be praying for the Lord's leading
in this important decision. We will now be trying to find a place to stay
in the area of Jesús de Otoro for a couple times a week.
The translation
of the book which Brother Ron Crisp wrote on “The Person & Work of the Holy
Spirit” is now ready to be printed. This book has been placed on the web
and Bro. Duvall said it has received many hits from the Latin community, more
than any of the other books on their site. Brother Crisp’s book on
Genesis is almost ready for proof-reading, and hopefully can be printed later
this year as well.
May the Lord
bless you all for your kindness for this work in Honduras. Your prayers, cards, letters, and love gifts are all
such a blessing to us. Also thanks for praying for our health. It
is better, but I still have some dizziness and coughing spells. Sylvia
also went to the doctor, and he gave her some medicine which has stopped her
allergies or cold from flaring up all the time.
Thanks again.
Your brother in
Christ, Ted Tweet
