Missionary Letter for February, 2010 - David A. Zuhars Jr. & Lee Ellen Zuhars

Dear Brethren in Christ,

The Bible Says: “And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night”. Exodus 13:21.

The Lord God is our Shepherd and Guide. We constantly look to Him for the guidance to walk in the right path, the path He has for us. We trust Him to guide us and we must always look to Him for His leadership. He promised to lead and guide us according to His will. Oh, Lord we pray that you will guide us by your gracious and powerful hand and supply our needs as we follow by faith.

This month I told the First Baptist Church in the Garden of the Olive Trees that I would be resigning as their pastor as soon they choose another pastor to take my place. I will continue as their pastor until then. We covet your prayers as the church seeks the Lord’s will in choosing a pastor. The church has set March 21 to vote on brother Rômulo as pastor. Pray for us and them.

My wife and I have felt for some time that our work in Brazil is drawing to a close. We have felt His leadership to return to the USA to pastor as the Lord leads. We do not know at this time when this will be, but sometime this year. We will stay in Brazil for some time after the church here calls a pastor. We ask that you pray that the Lord would open a door of service for us and for the church here.

I plan to make a trip to Tucuruí, Pará, on the 5th of March and return on the 8th. Pray for this trip and the possible organization of this work into a church. There is no brother there called to the ministry at this time. Pray also about this.

The work in Tapera, Ceará, goes about the same. The same older couple is still attending the services. This community is infested with homosexuals. The percentage of sodomites in this place is high. There are no men in the congregation except the preacher, Mardônio. Pray for them also.

The work in Ibicuitaba, Ceará, still carries on the work of preaching and teaching the Word. Brother Antônio visits and evangelizes in the community. He has Bible studies in the homes of some as the door is opened on Saturday nights. Plus he preaches to those who come out on the Lord’s Day. He also works during the week on a small farm close by. Most of those who attend are lost. Pray for them.

We had a slight traffic accident and therefore the car repair. We are thankful the Lord watched over us and no one was hurt.

Lee Ellen has a new mouthpiece and her headache is almost gone. The slight headache that remains is caused by her back problem. She has some back pain at this time also. But she is greatly improved. Continue to pray for her.

We truly and constantly thank God for you all. We earnestly covet your prayers for us and the church here at this time as we seek the Lord’s leadership.

The Bible Says. “For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name’s sake lead me, and guide me”. Psalm 31:3.
