Missionary Letter for March, 2008

David A. Zuhars Jr. & Lee Ellen Zuhars

Dear Fellow Laborers in Christ,

The Bible Says. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.

We truly praise God the Father for His great love in sending His blessed Son into the world to save His chosen ones. We will praise Him throughout all eternity.

Prayer. We ask that you pray for Lee Ellen and the problem with the tendonitis that she has in her wrists. The problem had improved somewhat, but now has worsened again. It is not as bad as at first, but worse that it was. Next week she will get an injection in both wrists to see if that can remedy the problem. She can get the injections up to two different times. She will continue the physical therapy also. If this does not work she will need to have surgery. We ask you pray that this will take care of the problem and surgery will not be necessary.

The First Baptist Church in the Garden of the Olive Trees. The services during March went on as usual. With lost visitors present most of the time. A man that has been attending for quite some time professed Christ publicly as his savior the last Sunday of the month. His name is Reginaldo and his mother (Maria José) is a member of the church. He is about 30 years old.

The Bible Classes continue on every week. Pastor João Batista teaches homiletics and hermeneutics on Tuesday night and I teach Bible Survey on Thursday night.

The Work in Tapera, Ceará. We had a special service on Friday night the 21st at 6 pm. We rented a big bus and went out together for the services. The bus was loaded to capacity and it was a good time of fellowship. Pastor João Batista preached that night on Martha and Mary from Luke 10:38-42. We had special flute music and I also sang a solo. Some visitors from the community came out to hear the Word.

The Work in Ibicuitaba, Ceará. The word that I get from Brother Antônio is that the services are going on as usual with the same lost people present. Pray the Lord would open the hearts of these lost sinners as He sees fit. I hope to make a trip down there in the next few weeks.

The Work in Tucuruí, Pará. I was not able to make a trip to Tucuruí this month as I hoped because of the lack of funds. I pray that I can soon. The brethren there write me by email and they are encouraged in the Lord and enjoying the study of His Word. I sent them some studies by mail and they really are enjoying them. They asked for others and I will send them out soon. They also are faithful in witnessing, passing out tracts and trying to get out the Word. They keep asking when I will make another trip. Pray for this work.

The Pioneer Baptist. Our paper the Pioneer Baptist is still going out every three months. The Lord is blessing this work and we praise his name for it. We are in the final stages of getting another one ready for mailing. The theme of this edition is evangelistic sermons. Pray for the readers.

The Bible Says. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”. Romans 5:8.
