MONTHLY  MISSIONARY  LETTER  - November,  2007

Fellow Laborers in the Gospel of Christ,

The Bible Says

“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and forever”.  Hebrews 13:8.

We praise the Lord that He is eternally immutable.  Therefore we know that His eternal plan to save will never change.

Visiting the Lord’s Churches

This month of November we have visited some churches, but less than in previous months.  We attended and participated in the ordination of Brother Enrique Cantú the second of the month.  We pray the Lord will bless him in the work He has called him to in Mexico.  I had the privilege of preaching a meeting from the 4th to the 7th for the Pleasant Ridge Baptist, Lexington, KY, Earl Thomas pastor.  It was a good meeting and the Lord blessed as I ministered to the dear saints there.  On the 25th we were with the Grace Baptist Church in Corbin, KY, Wayne Bowling interim pastor, in the morning service and with the Grace Baptist Church in Monticello, KY, Clint Keith pastor, in the evening service.  The Lord willing I will preach tonight (30th) for the fellowship meeting of the churches at the Renaker Baptist Church in Renaker, KY, and for the Bryan Station Baptist on Sunday morning the 2nd of December.

We sincerely thank each church for having us and pray the Lord would bless each one.  In these six months (including tonight and Sunday) I have preached 60 times in 38 different churches.  If we did not visit your church this time, we apologize, but it was because of time restrains and we will try and do it next time.

Return to Brazil

We will return to Brazil on the 4th of December at 7:15 am from Cincinnati, OH, and arrive in Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil, on the 5th at 6 am, the Lord willing.  Our time in the USA has been busy with going about to see the Lord’s churches.  Three new churches have started supporting the work in Brazil: Calvary Baptist Church, Campton, KY, Harry Helton pastor; Concord Baptist Church, Leesville, SC, Elton Dunbar pastor and the Sovereign Grace Baptist Church, Duncan, OK, Daniel Pope pastor.  We thank the Lord for this blessing and the churches for their generosity and missionary spirit.

It would seem that after all these years of being in Brazil that it would get easier to leave your loved ones, family, friends and brethren in Christ, but it doesn’t, it gets harder.  The Lord gives grace to go and stay as He sees fit.  The Brazilian brethren anxiously are awaiting our arrival.

The 16th of January the First Baptist Church in Fortaleza will celebrate it’s 25th anniversary.  We are planning to have special services.  Pray with us as we minister there.

We will need to make a trip to Tucuruí, Pará, in December to see about baptizing some brethren there as the Lord wills.  Pray for these brethren, there may be as many as four of them now.  One brother (Haroldo) there that had been with the pentecostals and attended our services quit coming because of the pentecostal influence and his pentecostal girlfriend.  He wrote me an email stating that he is attending again and intends to stay.  He said he is convinced of the truth of God’s grace.  Pray for him.  Each one of these trips cost around $700.  Any church or churches that can help with this expense is greatly appreciated.

Brethren, pray with us about the need of God called preachers in Brazil.  We must pray to the Lord of the harvest that He would laborers into the harvest.  Only God can call men to preach the gospel.

The Bible Says

“For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed”.  Malachi 3:6.
